The Library of Irkutsk State University is one of the largest regional university libraries in Russia, offering extensive information resources and modern means of access to them. The main compositional elements inside the library are the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, while the design of the bridge incorporates a winged lion with a human face and the symbol of the phoenix, representing the keepers of knowledge and guides to the secrets of wisdom.

It is equipped with modern computer equipment, audio-video communication facilities, spacious halls, and comfortable spaces with Wi-Fi. The library has a collection of over 2.5 million printed items and over 1.5 million electronic publications. It serves approximately 45,000 readers annually.
