The indoor ice complex with artificial ice will become an international center for speed skating in the Asia-Pacific region and will host stages of the World Cup in winter sports and other international competitions. Speed skating is a fundamental and priority sport for the Irkutsk region. Considering the established traditions in this sport and the favorable geographical location of the region, as well as the performance of athletes from the Irkutsk region in the last three Olympic Games, the construction of such a facility that meets international standards will enhance the effectiveness of athlete training in the region and provide opportunities for training camps for the Russian national teams. The indoor stadium is planned to be equipped with modern equipment capable of creating artificial "fast ice." The ice arena consists of a 400-meter track, as well as areas for figure skating, short track, ball hockey, and seating for 4,500 spectators.
